PLANE ENGINE
I took this shot late in the day as the plane I was flying in was flying in to land over a small town. I
was landing at Luton airport and the coulours from the sunset and the street lighting drew my attention.
I had no idea what the shot would be like so I braced the camera against the plane window and fired away.
Unfortunatley I do not remember the shutter speed.

SHELLS
I collected a large variety of shells from Dunnet bay over the winter and I was starting to
wonder what I should do with them all so I tried to find ways of photographing them. This was
taken with natural light but I moistened all the shells to try and display their best colours.
This shot makes a fantastic backgound on a PC!

WIGEON
I spent some time trying to photograph the wigeon but they kept eluding me until I managed
to sneak in on a group in a sheltered bay. Most of them flew of but one or two remained and
gradually the rest returned. As I poked my head out of the rock pool I was lying in they got
spooked and took flight bursting from the water. This picture is far better than the static
one of the duck all sat on the water. I used my longest lens a 300mm.

FULMAR
This was taken on a trip out to Strathy point. I had spent all day taking flight shots of
Fulmar and I thought I would try something a little different. I set a slower shutter speed
and tried panning with the birds as the flew in the strong wind. This individusl was air
braking which is why its feet are down in the photo. Of about 50 flight pictures I got
maybe two or three acceptable images.
