"Camel
Shadow, Morocco, November 2005"
Why on earth have I
selected this image as a picture of the month you may be asking?
Well there are a number of reasons...
I happen to quite like
it because of the memories that it brings back for me. This can
of course distract a photographer when editting work but you need
to learn from these feelings. Does the image that you have created
reflect the same emotions for a viewer who is no as intimately
connected with this scene? If the answer is yes then you have
created a sucessful image. If no - print it, hang it in your house
and enjoy it but promise to try harder next time.
Others may comment
that this image has been done before. So what? Its a learning
curve for all photographers to attempt. I learnt a lot taking
this image about angle of light, riding a camel with no hands,
taking risks and photography in the desert - perhaps I will create
something more original next time but using the new skills I have
learnt.
